Upper Hallway
The upstairs hallway leads to a variety of guest rooms, storage rooms, the ballroom, and the attic. The marbleizing along the walls in the Lower Hallway was continued upstairs but has yet to be restored.

One odd quirk of this hallway is the ceilings that were painted blue. While we have no concrete reason for this decision, many believe it was to imitate the sky. Some stories claim this is to draw bugs higher, therefore leaving the walking area bug-free. At one end of this hallway is our door to nowhere. Trunk Window
Directly at the top of the stairs you’ll see a strange window. This actually played a key role in ensuring guests and their belongings were taken care of in a safe and efficient manner. During the mid-1800s when the Fryfogel Tavern was still operating as an Inn there would have been a pulley system set up outside this window. This would help the Fryfogel’s bring guests trunks up to the second floor where the bedrooms were.
